Education is an essential task of the national park. According to the principle "only what you know and love, you are ready to protect", environmental education shows biological and ecological connections and explains them vividly. The significance of wilderness as a natural environment unaffected by man and the importance of a high level of biodiversity are conveyed here. Experiencing nature in its diversity up close and with all senses, recognizing the value of the protected area for nature and society, and being motivated to protect nature as the basis for all of our lives - these are the goals of environmental education in Berchtesgaden National Park.
